The Cardinals picked up their second consecutive win with an 8-0 shut out over Lebanon.
The first six batters reached safely in the bottom of the first as the Cardinals scored five times. Andrew Young and Karsen Myers were both hit by pitches before Brock Renfro drilled a base hit to right scoring Young with the first run. Mason Young and Andrew Beverlin drew back to back walks to force in run number two. Bryer Robinson then bounced a ball over the first baseman's head down the right field line to score two more and force a Lebanon pitching change. The final run came home on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Hudson Byrd.
A wild pitch allowed Luke Bevelin to score a single run in the third. Webb City picked up the final two runs in the sixth as Bryson Bard and Braden Strickland singled to open the frame. Andrew Young drove in Hoffman, who was running for Bard, with a ground out. A double steal later in the inning allowed Strickland to score the final run.
Every hitter in the Cardinal lineup reached base safely in the game with seven different players scoring a run. Bryer Robinson went 2-3 on the day with two rbi.
Tate Lewis was masterful on the mound with the complete game win. He set the Yellow Jackets down in order in six of the seven innings. The second inning was only inning where Lebanon had a base runner as he walked one and allowed his only hit of the day. Three strikeouts in the first two innings for Lewis, he finished the game with six after striking out the side in the top of the seventh to end the game.
The Cardinals are at Springfield Central on Thursday.
