Landon Cornish picked up a victory in his first game as head basketball coach, guiding the Cardinals to an 84-50 triumph over Hot Springs (Ark.) at the Arvest Tournament on Thursday night.
The Cardinals opened up with a 25-7 run through the first quarter and led 49-18 at the half.
Webb City's depth was an immediate bright spot as 11 Cardinals scored. Kohl Slaughter paced the Cardinals offense with 20 points while Phoenix Johnson followed with 19.
