The Cardinals put a stop to a three game skid as they topped the Mustangs 86-70 to even their record at 5-5 on the season.
The Mustangs scored the first five points of the game but the Cardinals took the lead for good at 13-11 on a Holden Johnson three pointer at the 3:30 mark of the first quarter. A three pointer from Eli Pace early in the second quarter closed out the 13-0 as Webb City built a double digit lead they then held throughout the rest of the game.
Four different Cardinals scored double figures with Holton Keith leading the way with 28. Eli Pace tallied 16 with five steals. Off the bench, Holden Johnson recorded 13 on the strength of a 4 of 6 shooting night from long range. Trae Turner had seven steals leading to two different throw downs on his way to a 12 point night. As a team, Webb City was 18 of 26 from the free throw line.
The defense forced the Mustangs into 31 turn overs.
The Cardinals return to the Dome on Friday with another district bout as they entertain Hillcrest.
