Cardinal golf opens at Twin Hills

Cardinal golf opens at Twin Hills

Webb City opened the golf season at Twin Hills on Monday.

Junior Nathan Ogden (44) and senior James Pierce (45) finished in the top 10, at fifth and sixth, respectively.

"I thought we came out a little flat today," first-year Webb City coach Jackson Boyer said. "I think a lot of our guys struggled on the first few holes. But most of them put together decent rounds by the end of the day. But I don't think any of us are satisfied.

"I expect Nathan and James to lead us this season," Boyer said. "There's a lot of competition for spots within the team and that's good. I expect us to compete in every tournament because I think we have a good group."

Also competing for the Cardinals were sophomores Jager Carter (49), Carson Frazier (51), Dylan Burlingame (52) and freshman Keegon Dill (59).

They tee off again today at the Carthage Golf Course beginning at 3:30.
