Lady Cardinals remain perfect at home, clip Falcons 9-0

The Lady Cardinals remain unblemished at home (4-0) as they ran their overall record to 10-1 with a 9-0 victory over Glendale.

Alivia Nieburg got her second start of the season and limited the Falcons to only two hits in the complete game win.  Striking out five consecutive hitters over the first and second innings, she finished with seven, walking only two.  Twice she worked her way out of innings the Falcons placed their first two hitters on base as she induced seven ground ball outs and three fly outs.

At the plate, Abby Sargent and Makenzie Wynn were both 2-2 and Liz Rhuems finished 2-4 to lead the Cardinal 10 hit outburst.

Webb City struck for two runs in the first with Karsyn Cahoon starting the game off with a double and Abby Sargent getting hit by a pitch.  After Cahoon was cut down off a great defensive play at third off the bat of Liz Rhuems, Alivia Nieburg and Alex Maturino drove in single runs with base hits.

Scoreless through the next two innings, the Cardinals put a 4 spot on the board in the fourth.  After two outs, Chasney Brown (HBP), Makenzie Wynn (1B), Karsyn Cahoon (BB), Abby Sargent (1B) and LIz Rhuems (1B) all reached base consecutively before the Falcons could secure the final out of the inning.

A pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth provided the final margin.

Webb City is on the road at Kickapoo on Thursday before traveling to Kansas City over the weekend.
