A 5-0 start in the games opening minute jump started the Lady Cardinals to a 63-36 drubbing of the McDonald County Mustangs on the road Tuesday night. Never trailing, the Cardinals opened up a 23-11 lead after one quarter that expanded to 37-18 at half time.
Three scored in double figures with Abby Sargent and Addie Burns tallying 15 each with Whitlee Keith finishing with 14. Burns and Keith each hit three from long range as the Cardinals finished with eight triples. Adalyn Maxwell, making her first start in place of the injured Kirra Long, scored nine while grabbing a team high nine rebounds and blocking four Mustang shots. Abby Sargent had five assists to go along with five steals.
The defense only allowed the Mustangs to shoot 25% on the night and forced 28 turnovers.
The Lady Cardinals are back on the road Thursday night as they visit Nevada.
