Webb City sprinted out to a 17-8 first quarter lead that slowly evaporated as Ozark came back to pin a 46-41 loss on the Cardinals.
Hitting four of their first six shots, the Lady Cardinals were quickly up 10-2 and an Abby Sargent basket at the end of the first quater gave them the nine point lead.
Ozark caught the Cardinals early in the second quarter as they went on a 9-0 run to tie up the score at 17. After a brief lead for Ozark, Webb City got a bucket from Adalyn Maxwell and a layup at the buzzer from Abby Sargent to take a 24-21 lead to the locker room.
Ozark closed to within a point as the fourth quarter opened. Scoring the first seven points in the final stanza game the Tigers a six point advantage. The Cardinals used a three from Brecklynn Sargent and two free throws from Abby Sargent to pull back to within a single point. After an Ozark free throw, Addie Burns hit a long range shot putting the Cardinals back on top with only 90 seconds left on the clock. The Tigers answered back with a three of their own and, as the Cardinals were forced to foul, made four consecutive free throws to escape with the win.
Abby Sargent led the offense with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Adayln Maxwell snared a team best 14 rebounds.
