Lady Cards take down Mountaineers in four sets

After cruising to a first set win 25-12, the volleyball play inside The Dome got a little more exciting.

A single point separated the two clubs over the next three sets.  The Cardinals won set two 27-25 only to have Mt Vernon come back and snatch set three 26-24.  Webb City took an early lead in set four only to see the Mountaineers close the gap before finishing off the match with a 25-22 win.

Three different Cardinals recorded double digit kills with Jaeli Rutledge and Kirra Long each putting away eleven kills and Mia Lenker driving home ten.   Savannah Crane added 36 more assists to her total.  Leading the defensive effort was Kirra Long with 20 digs, Avery Gardner followed with 14.

The Cardinals are at Kickapoo on Tuesday and at Republic on Thursday
