For the track and field squads from Webb City and Joplin, Friday's Redbird Relays acted as a final tuneup ahead of next week's Central Ozark Conference meet.

The Cardinals weren't exactly gracious hosts. Competing inside the friendly confines of Cardinal Stadium against seven other squads, Webb City swept the team titles.

Webb City's girls claimed eight first-place finishes.

Allary Liberatore led the way for the Cardinals as the Pittsburg State recruit won the high jump (5-feet) and the long jump (16-2) and also took second in the triple jump (33-4).

"Allary continues to do well as a senior leader," Butler said.

Also for the Cardinals, Talyn Smith crossed the line first in the 100 hurdles (17.0), Riley Hawkins took first in the 1600 (5:39), while Haidyn Berry won the javelin (129-10) and Octavia Duncan won the shot put (42-7).

Webb City won the 4x200 relay in 1:52, with Alyssa Gatlin, Raven Vaughn, Morgan Brannon and KeyarahWright running. The Cardinals also won the 4x400, with Madison Peeples, Rachel Davison, Smith and Liberatore competing.

Karson Culver (116-0) and Duncan (115-11) placed second and third, respectively, in the discus. Finishing second in their events were Hawkins (800), Alyssa Jennings (100) and Peeples (400).

Joplin's Jessalyn Adams placed second in the javelin with a new school record toss of 110 feet. Joplin's girls placed second in the 4x200 relay, with Kylie Anderson, Tatiana Potter, Emily Clifford and Ryland Dermott competing. Dermott took second in the 200. College Heights Christian's Kylee Lang took first in the 800 in 2:31, while teammate Makenna Lewis was second in the high jump and fourth in the 200. The Cougars took second in the 4x400, with Jaira Glaser, Lewis, Macie Frazier and Lang competing. Thomas Jefferson's Olivia Renfro won the triple jump (36-1) and finished third in the long jump (15-4).
